Excellent subject for some discussion. If we divide strategic planning into two process; strategy formation and strategy deployment, then the role of project management beocmes more clear. The deployment of a stratgy has most of the characteristics of a project and some organizations would benefit from the development of a project office or a similar approach to executing projects that derive from the organization’s strategy.
