June 2006 event to be held in Philadelphia and hosted by the Center for Business Practices
HAVERTOWN, PA (March 8, 2006) According to new research from the Center for Business Practices (CBP), improving an organization's level of project management maturity results in significant performance benefits. At the CBP's Summer 2006 Benchmarking Forum, Project Office Best Practices: Lessons Learned in Building and Maturing the Project Office (June 1-2, Doubletree Hotel, Philadelphia), senior project professionals will show how organizations have achieved these benefits by implementing proven strategies for building and maturing the project office.
In addition, the CBP will host two pre-forum workshops on May 31 that will focus on managing and controlling portfolio performance and designing and building high-performing project teams. The workshops will also be held at the Doubletree Hotel.
James S. Pennypacker, director of the Center for Business Practices, will host the Forum and present the latest research on project offices. Presentations will include:
"With the growth of project offices in organizations over the past five years, many best practices on what leads to success have been captured," said Pennypacker. "Attendees consistently grade our Forums high on the value they receive through the exchange of lessons learned among their peers."
The cost for the two-day forum is $795. Registration for a half-day pre-forum workshop is $495 per workshop. Discount pricing is available for attending both the Forum and workshops.

About the CBP's Benchmarking Forums
The Center for Business Practices' Benchmarking Forums feature direct benchmarking among attendees who actively exchange best practices and participate in facilitated discussions with peers. They differ from traditional conferences in that presentations are used to direct the discussions and knowledge sharing among attendees – senior managers who bring their experiences as well as their issues, which are addressed by the whole group. Attendees leave the forum with a clear understanding of current best practices that they can immediately apply in their own organizations.
